When your feet hurt, it’s tough to get moving in the morning. Exercise is clearly out of the question until your feet feel better. But until that happens, there’s still the matter of getting out of bed, placing your feet on the ground and getting started living your day.
Fortunately, there are several solutions to foot problems that you can try:
Get an Evaluation
Visit a certified pedorthist who is trained to understand pathologies of the foot, can evaluate your pain and educate you about the various foot conditions. The pedorthist is more like a pharmacist than a doctor and will be familiar with various orthotics, arch supports, shoe inserts or other products that might help your condition. He does not diagnose medical conditions.
Or you can go to the next and more expensive step of seeing a podiatrist about your feet. Some of the conditions the podiatrist may diagnose include heel pain, plantar fasciitis, metatarsalgia, bunions and arthritis. The doctor can write a prescription for products to help, like custom orthotics.
Go Shopping
We know your feet hurt, but you need to find supportive footwear that can bring a significant degree of relief. You need to go shopping, even if you just start online. You will probably be surprised when you see the variety of supportive footwear available for all ages and genders.

Some of the popular brands of truly supportive footwear include New Balance, Finn Comfort, Clarks, Merrell, Ecco and Keen.
New Balance
New Balance is known for its athletic shoes, but the company makes more than the sneakers you wear to walk the dog.
