First off, let me say that these are pretty decent quality. I like them a lot, they function well, and nothing has broken yet. That said, this is what you could consider a “baseline model.”
The plastic bindings on the boot portion almost seem too weak to handle the pressure on them – one of them has already partially broken, but it’s still functional. They hold my foot but they are difficult to get off due to a spring that went out of place. I plan to replace these with metal snowboard bindings at some point.
The biggest flaw in the design is the Knee-bar. I have had a bad time of getting it adjusted (The bars are far too hard to move up and down, and it’s impossible to position them just right). The strap that goes behind the leg is far too loose considering how much pressure is on it. In fact, it requires a kneepad and extra nylon straps just to get it snug enough to jump comfortably.
The footpad also wears out quickly – I’d suggest looking into making a tire sock.
Design issues aside, they are very fun. I was comfortable on them within a day and I am able to move around easily. I can get about three feet of height so far, and I can stride at a pretty quick speed.
Final note: If you do plan on buying these, or any other type of jumping boots, make sure you do your research on what is required for safety gear and mods and what options are available to get the most out of your jumping stilts
